Kasie Hunt began her journalism career in January 2005 as an intern with the political section of NBC News in the Washington DC Metro Area. She worked at NBC for five years until she left in May 2005. She began working at The Associated Press in May 2006 as a news assistant and stayed for a year and a month before leaving in May 2007. From July 2008 to February 2010, she served as a health policy correspondent for the National Journal’s CongressDaily, covering the passage of the Affordable Care Act.
She then joined Politico in January 2010, where she covered the GOP nomination races in Iowa and New Hampshire, as well as the 2010 midterm elections, until she left in August 2011. Hunt began working as a national political correspondent for the Associated Press in August 2011 and continued until January 2013. She also covered Mitt Romney’s 2012 presidential campaign.
