He became interested in comedy at a very young age and often performed for his parents and his primary school peers. Steven was later encouraged by his high school teacher to try his acting skills at the school’s drama club, and he went on to act in several plays, but became uninterested in becoming a famous actor. He was physically active while playing football and basketball, and after his matriculation in 2008, Steven found a job to support himself financially before he started earning enough money on the internet.
Steven launched his YouTube channel on February 19, 2008, which today has more than 225,000 subscribers and all his videos combined have more than 12 million views. He mainly uploads videos he made in his daily life, and most of these are also comical – his two most popular videos are “Things Bilingual People Do” as it has been viewed over 8.5 million times since March 5, 2015, and “Asian Parents React To I Love You (ORIGINAL)” as it has since received over a million views views September 23, 2014.
