Who is Jacob Scipio?

Jacob Muntaz Scipio was born in Islington, London, England, on January 10, 1993 – his zodiac sign is Capricorn and he is a British national. He is an actor and writer, who is perhaps best known for playing the main villain Armando Arets in the 2020 action comedy crime film “Bad Boys for Life”, starring Will Smith, Martin Lawrence and Vanessa Hudgens, and is about two Miami detectives who are looking to arrest a mother and her son who are the drug lords of Florida. The film received positive reviews and was nominated for a BET Award for Best Picture.

Early life and education

Jacob was raised in London as an only child by his Guyanese father, Taylor Scipio, a film director and writer, and his British mother, who is a housewife. He started his career at a very young age as his parents allowed him to appear in a single episode of the series “Bambino Mio” when he was only nine months old.

Jacob studied at St. Michael’s Church of England Primary School where he continued to act, appearing in almost all the plays performed at the school – he attended Fortismere School based in Muswell Hill where he played football and baseball while also practicing his acting skills at both the school and the local theatre.

After taking his matriculation exam in 2011, Jacob enrolled at the University of Essex, graduating in 2015 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Film and Literature.

Jacob’s next role came in 2002 when he was nine years old, invited to play two supporting characters in the episodes “The Return of Magid Iqbal” and “The Temptation of Samad Iqbal” of the drama comedy mini-series “White Teeth”, which starred Om Puri, Phil Davis and Naomie Harris, and is about a girl who contemplates suicide but changes her mind after meeting Clara. The series was a success, winning three awards and being nominated for three others.

In 2006, Jacob guest-starred as Kris Slattery in the episode “Quality Time” of the drama “Holby City”, and two years later he played Kerwhizzitor, one of the main characters in the game show “Kerwhizz”, in which three people race. with their supernatural accomplices when only one can be the winner of a prize. Jacob gained recognition in 2007 when he was invited to star as Bip in six episodes of the short comedy series “As the Bell Rings”, and while he was praised for his performance, the series received mostly negative reviews. In 2013, he played Tyler Blaine in three episodes of the comedy series “Some Girls” starring Adelayo Adedayo and Natasha Jonas and was quite popular in UK and US.

Two years later, he played the supporting character Lewis in the comedy mystery series “Dixi”. After that, he guest-starred in a single episode of the comedy drama “Dani’s Castle”. Jacob made his screen debut in 2012 when he was cast to play Louis in the short drama “Undefeated” written and directed by Tudor Payne and starring Samuel Anderson, Alex Austin and James Bradshaw. The story follows a girl living in London who struggles to survive on her own.

In 2016, Jacob starred as Kane in the short drama “Cowboys & Angels”, which he also wrote, and also starred Thailah Newton and Sid Owen – the film follows a mute child who is visited by an angel who wants to help him deal with the fact that he has to live with his alcoholic father.

In 2017, Jacob pronounced Leo the animated action adventure movie “Bob The Builder: Mega Machines”which did not attract much attention, in 2018 he portrayed Sonar 2 in the action thriller “Hunter Killer”, starring Gerard Butler and Gary Oldman and is about a submarine captain who teams up with the US Navy Seals to protect the Russian president from his kidnappers – the film won a South African Society of Cinematographers Visible Spectrum Award for Best Feature Film Gold Certificate.
