There is a new person in the Lofi Girl universe. The countdown of the mysterious new Lofi Girl stream ended earlier on Tuesday, and when it was over, a person in a purple sweater with a cute dog sat down at their computer and started listening to some excellent synthwave beats.

The new person in the stream has no name; an announcement from the Lofi Girl channel only calls them a “brand new character.” Get ready to fully immerse yourself in the new realm of retro-futuristic sounds and join us on a journey through time and space, exploring the wonders of Synthwave and unraveling the mysteries of the Lofi universe !” part of the announcement reads.
Now, the Lofi Girl channel has three streams: the new “synthwave radio 🌌 – beats to chill/game to”; the original “lofi hip hop radio 📚 – beats to relax/study to”; And the softer “lofi hip hop radio – beats to sleep/chill to.” This new synthwave persona actually lives close to the original Lofi Girl character. When the countdown ended, the main stream of Lofi Girl zoomed far out from the new character to the familiar room and cat of the original person. And in both the original and new streams, you can see the glow of the other’s room in the distance.
I’m really digging for the new synthwave channel. I’ve already shared my love for chill beats to listen to, but I also love how the new environment is remarkably similar to my own. This new person types at a computer and has an R2-D2 figure on his desk and an NES controller in the corner; I spend my hours typing on a computer and have a Grogu figure and my Steam Deck on the side of my own workspace. The new person and I even both wear hats! I just need a lava lamp to complete my cosplay.
