Honda Cars India plans to increase the prices of its entry-level Amaze compact sedan by up to ₹12,000 to offset the impact of an increase in production costs due to forthcoming stricter emissions standards from next month. The price increase depends on the different versions of the model.

“We will increase Amaze prices by up to ₹12,000 effective April 1 to account for the increase in production costs due to the upcoming stricter emissions standards,” Honda Cars India Vice President Marketing & Sales Kunal Behl told PTI.

The company would not change the prices of its City mid-size saloon, he added.

The Indian automotive industry is currently working to bring its products to the second phase of BSVI.

From April 1, vehicles must have a self-diagnostic device on board to monitor real-time driving emission levels.

The device constantly monitors key components to meet emission standards, such as the catalytic converter and oxygen sensors to closely monitor emissions.

on March 22 Held MotoCorp announced that it will increase the prices of its model range by about 2 percent from next month. Likewise, Tata engines announced that it will increase company car prices by up to 5 percent from April 1, 2023.
