Aquaman And The Lost Kingdom
After Warner Bros and DC’s biggest project, 2017’s The Justice League, performed miserably on Box office and turned out to be a disappointment. Jason Momoa stepped in the stand-alone film about DC’s Atlantian Prince and saved the day. The Aquaman, released in 2018, became the most profitable film in DCEU, gathering a collection of over one billion dollars. The film proves that DC does not entirely rely on Batman and Superman to make money.
After about two months of the first film’s release, Warner Bros announced a sequel film for Aquaman’s character. With James Wann returning to direct the second film, the movie will follow Arthur Curry and Mera, played by Amber Heard. They will embark on a quest to uncover the secret of the lost kingdom that was hinted at in the first movie.
The upcoming DC Superhero movie will also mark the return of Patrick Wilson and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II in the roles of Om and Black Manta, respectively. As per the reports, the filming for the sequel began in June 2021. Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom was scheduled to release on December 16, 2022. However, it got postponed recently due to the merger. Now, the Aquaman sequel will release on March 17, 2023.
