Lisa Marie Kurbikoff is from the hills of Agoura; A little about her family
Lisa Marie Kurbikoff, Cary Elwes’ longtime partner, was born on May 9, 1971 in Agoura Hills, California.
Fun fact: Kurbikoff went to high school with actresses like Heather Graham, Aimee Graham, Shane Stanley and model Beverly Peele.
While not much is known about her family, according to Facebook, Cary’s wife has at least three sisters, Donna, Darlene Wynn and Janet, and a brother, Peter A Kurbikoff Jr. Also one of her sisters, Janet, is apparently her twin brother.
Lisa is the daughter of Sandra Carol Kurbikoff and Peter A Kurbikoff. Kurbikoff’s mother, Sandra, a resident of Westlake Village, died in March 2015.
It is believed that her father is originally from Bridgeport Connecticut.
Lisa Marie Kurbikoff Career as a Photographer
While it’s unclear at this time what Cary’s wife, Lisa, is doing, she has been a photographer in the past.
Kurbikoff used to shoot for the MTV car customization reality series, Pimp my ride. Her then works were also featured in AutoWeek magazine.
The Agoura Hills native has also shot for Robbie Williams’ “Greatest Hits” alongside other artists such as rapper Xzibit. Her visual works have also been featured in The Miami Herald.
Does Kurbikoff appear in movies?
While her only work as an actress was in the 1994 erotic thriller film, The cool surface as a random party goer, Lisa has relatively more credits as an extra crew for movies, namely Rent control (as still photographer and associate producer), and Wonderland (as a crime scene photographer).
Lisa Marie Kurbikoff met her husband, Cary Elwes in Malibu
Stills photographer Lisa met the Saw actor Elwes in 1991 at the annual Malibu chili cook-off.
Cary says that meeting Lisa was his real fairytale novel. When he saw her, Cary had a handful of tickets for a few rides. Shortly after spotting Lisa, the British celebrity asked her to join him on the rides she agreed to. Elwes apparently left quite an impression on Lisa when she first met him.
However, they waited a few months before going on a first date.

Marie and Elwes got engaged in December 1997 in Paris. The London-born actor proposed to Lisa in the Eiffel Tower at Le Jules Verne restaurant. For this reason, Cary once revealed that the French capital is his favorite destination. The now 59-year-old actor said that the place is also very close to his heart.
Kurbikoff and Caryo married each other on June 25, 2000. Seven years later, on April 24, 2007, they would welcome a daughter, Dominique.
In another interview, Elwes said meeting and falling in love with his wife, Lisa, was the most Westley-esque moment in his own life. Something on the same spectrum is also the birth of his daughter. As the father of Dominique, Elwes even says that this is his best performance in the world.

The couple would live in Malibu, California with their only child, Dominique. Born in Westminster, Cary once revealed that he had always dreamed of living in a beach town since he first visited it when he was a child with his family. Elwes apparently became addicted to Malibu, as it also happened to be the place where he first met his wife.
Lisa and her husband, Cary are both fans of Netflix’s Stranger Things
Apparently both Lisa and her actor husband have long been fans of Netflix’s supernatural adventure series, Stranger things. The pair even ditched many of their other plans so they just couldn’t stop watching the Millie Bobby Brown star show.
Stranger Things, admittedly, is the only show Cary binge-watched with his wife. Lisa’s baby dad apparently wasn’t one to love watching shows all at once.

Thankfully, when the call came from the show’s creators, the Duffers’ brother, and then the offer to be on their show, Kurbikoff’s husband clearly said yes.
Cary revealed during an interview that a role on the show really meant a lot to him. Elwes’ character on the Netflix hit series, Larry Kline, is a recurring antagonist in the show’s third season.
Lisa Kurbikoff is also quite active on Facebook and Instagram
While Lisa may not be in showbiz or in the media spotlight, Cary Elwes’ old woman is pretty much in sharing mode with her Instagram and Facebook posts. The brunette California woman’s feeds mainly feature the family photos she took with her husband and her daughter, Dominique.
Her social media posts also showcase some of the TBT moments she shared with actor husband Cary Elwes. Lisa also frequently mentions her late mother and her siblings via her Instagram and Facebook. On the latter she also gives her say about burning entertainment and the geopolitical news and affairs or just shares them with her friends.
Will there be a remake of Lisa Husband’s hit film, The Princess Bride?
In September 2019, Variety reported that Tony Vinciquerra, CEO of Sony Pictures Entertainment thought about giving Cary’s career-defining film a new makeover.
While there was little excitement, most of the film’s fans expressed their outrage at the news of the remake. The suggestion to reboot the film even caused Elwes to respond.
A day after Variety reported the news, Cary took to Twitter to address the issue, writing:
“There is a shortage of perfect movies in this world. It would be a shame to damage it.”
The Robin Hood actor’s specific Tweet later gained more than 500,000 likes. Many took it as the conclusion that the majority of movie fans and Lisa’s husband, Cary, were on the same page when it came to the remake of The Princess Bride.
