Who is Sasha Mitchel?
Sasha Mitchell is an American actor, model and martial artist, who is perhaps best known for starring in the recurring role of James Beaumont on the TV drama series “Dallas”, and as Cody Lambert on the TV comedy series “Step by Step”. He is also known for his big screen appearances in the action movie franchise “Kickboxer”.
Early life
Sasha Mitchell was born under the constellation Leo on the 27e July 1967, in Los Angeles, California. Besides being of American nationality and white ethnicity, he is also of Russian and Jewish descent.
There is not much relevant information about his educational background other than that he studied acting at the National Improvisational Theater in New York City.
Before she plunged into the film industry, Sasha practiced mixed martial arts, which led him to earn a black belt in Muay Thai and Tae Kwon Do. During his teenage years, he won a local amateur kickboxing championship. In addition, he collaborated with fashion photographer Bruce Weber in the late 1980s and walked the catwalk as a model for Calvin Klein.
Acting career
Mitchell made his acting debut in the 1986 TV drama film “Pleasures”, after which he appeared in an episode of the Golden Globe nominated TV comedy-drama series “St. Somewhere Else”. By the late 1980s, he had added several supporting characters to his role wallet, such as in the TV series “Rags to Riches” and “William Tell”, as well as in the comedy drama film “Spike of Bensonhurst”. The real breakthrough in Sasha’s career came in 1989, when he was cast in the recurring role of James Beaumont on the CBS TV soap opera “Dallas‘, which he portrayed throughout the show’s three seasons, appearing in a total of 45 episodes.
1991 Mitchell got the lead role of David Sloan in the second installment of the action movie series “Kickboxer” titled “Kickboxer 2: The Road Back” in which he appeared as the younger brother of Kurt Sloane, originally played by Jean-Claude Van Damme. In addition, Sasha reprized the role in two other episodes of the series – “Kickboxer 3: The Art of War” in 1992 and “Kickboxer 4: The Aggressor” in 1994.
Apart from the aforementioned, in 1991 he started starring in the recurring role of Cody Lambert in ABC TV’s critically acclaimed comedy series “Step-by-step“, leading him to appear in over 100 episodes of the show until 1996.
Moreover, he reprized the role in the spin-off TV comedy series titled “ABC TGIF” as well as in the 1994 TV movie “ABC Sneak Peek with Step by Step”.
With the early 2000s, Mitchell appeared in films such as “Luck of the Draw”, “This Is How the World Ends” and “Gangland” before being cast in the 2003 romantic comedy film “The Failures”. Later that year, he made a cameo appearance in an episode of the TV crime drama series “LA Confidential”, before starring in the comedy film “Dickie Roberts: Former Child Star” and in the critically acclaimed action film “Slammed” in 2004.

Between 2004 and 2005, he made several guest appearances on NBC’s acclaimed media drama series “ER”.
After a five-year hiatus, in 2010 Sascha appeared in the poorly-appreciated adventure film “Abelar: Tales of an Ancient Empire” while reappearing after another five years in the TV action drama film titled “Frontlines”. Later in 2015, he was cast for the lead role in the action movie “EP/Executive Protection”, then appeared in the comedy drama movie “I Love You Both” in 2016.
In the following years, Sasha played several supporting roles in films such as “Smoke Filled Lungs” and “Assassin X”, as well as in the critically acclaimed short film “Father and Father”. His most recent on-screen acting appearance came in 2019, when he appeared opposite Salma Hayek and Alec Baldwin in the comedy film “Drunk Parents”.
Private life
Regarding his private life, Sasha was married twice, between 1990 and 1997 to Jeannette Robbins with whom he welcomed four children and three daughters: Paulina Justine born in 1988, Caroline (1990) and Stacy in 1996, and a son Ethan born in 1997 .
Prior to their divorce, Mitchell was charged with domestic violence in 1996 and was sentenced to three years’ probation for beating his wife. Finally, after violating his probation, he was sentenced to 30 days in prison.
In January 2002, in one of his interviews and regarding his allegations of domestic violence, he stated that he was just trying to protect his children from their abusive and abusive mother who was also a drug addict. After years of legal trouble, Sasha finally got full custody of his four children.
In December 2010, he married Rachel Mitchell, but filed for divorce five years later.
The 52 year old American actor has a ‘polished’ figure and is 1.91 m tall. Sasha has a huge dragon tattoo on his left shoulder.
