Mary Padian was born in Dallas, Texas, USA, on August 24, 1980, so her zodiac sign is Virgo and she is an American national. She is a journalist and TV personality, best known for starring in reality TV series “Storage wars”also starring Brandi Passante, Jarrod Schulz and Laura Dotson, and follows four professionals who bid to buy abandoned storage units, to take advantage of what might be hidden inside.
The series has been airing since 2010 and was nominated for a TV Guide Award for the favorite Guilty Pleasure in 2012, while Mary shot for it from 2014 to 2017 and appeared in a total of 41 episodes.
Early life and education
Mary and her younger brother Luke were raised by their father John Gerard Padian, who owns a metal recycling plant, and their mother Teresa Ann Padian, who works in the real estate business. John is of Irish descent, while Teresa is from Lebanon – they divorced in 2009.
Mary grew up interested in writing stories and articles, and it was in high school that she joined a journalist club and began working as an intern for “D Magazine” at age 18. At entrance exam, she enrolled at the University of Texas, Austin graduating with a bachelor’s degree in photojournalism in 2002.
Career as a journalist and TV personality
Mary began her career in 2003, when she began working as an assistant editor for “Architectural Digest” magazine in New York City – it published its first issue in 1920 and focuses on articles related to landscape architecture and interior design.
Mary had her own section in the magazine where she wrote about the unique things she bought for her house, which were very cheap, and she also created “Mary’s Finds Video Blog” to display these objects to the public. After Mary’s close friend and mentor, Paige Rense, decided to quit “Architectural Digest” in 2010, Mary felt all alone and decided to move back to Dallas.
In 2011, Mary opened an antique shop called “Mary’s Finds”, and soon met Moe Prigoff, who has been selling her antiques for years.
It was Moe who told Mary about the storage room auctions, and she bought and sold several of them before being invited to appear in the “Storage Wars” series.
Moe also appeared in “Storage Wars” in the first three seasons and is the owner of his own antique shop “River Regency Modern”. He is easily identified by his unique clothes, but his wife is not too happy with his career, as Moe has piled up the things he has not sold over the years in their backyard.
Love life and relationships
Mary is very secretive when it comes to her love life and has shared very little about her affairs with the public. After joining “Storage Wars”, rumors started spreading across the internet that the journalist and antiques dealer is a lesbian, due to the fact that she has not spoken about any men she may have dated. Some people stated that she was in a long-term relationship with her college sweetheart from 1999 to 2002, but they broke up after he proposed to her because Mary wanted to focus on her career.
But Mary suggested her friend Dylan to her fans on an episode of “Storage Wars” in 2016, and it seems like the two have been together ever since. Not much is known about Dylan except that he is younger and taller than Mary and some people believe that the two recently got engaged and are planning to get married in the summer of 2020. They currently live together in Los Angeles.
Hobbies and other interests
Mary is interested in all kinds of art and she can write, paint and interior design.
She is a lover of languages and likes to hear strange English words and expressions her favorite is ‘Razzle Dazzle’. Mary is close to her family, especially her father, as he has supported her as she worked on her career. Mary has uploaded countless pictures with him to her Instagram account and continues to say that she owes him everything she has earned and who she has become.
Mary likes to walk around without wearing makeup, but as some makeup artists have said, she is a natural beauty and has a perfect face for makeup.
She has shared several photos with the public where she is dressed glamorous and has her hair done professionally.
