Sam Skarsgård is a Swedish doctor and actor, but best known as the son of iconic actor Stellan Skarsgård. Early life and family
Sam was born on June 5, 1982 as Samuel Kristoffer Ymer Skarsgård, in Stockholm, Sweden. His father is veteran actor Stellan, who has been acting for more than five decades now. Many may have a hard time recognizing him in the “Pirates of The Caribean” movies because of his costume details that effectively hid his face.
Stellan was Will Turner’s father, Bootstrap Bill Turner, in both “Dead Man’s Chest” and “At World’s End”. Sam’s mother, My Skarsgård, is a doctor and the inspiration behind Sam’s motivation to become a doctor. He has four brothers namely Alexander, Gustaf, Bill and Valter as well as a sister, Eija. All his siblings followed in their father’s footsteps and pursued careers in the film industry.
In 2007, Sam’s parents divorced, and two years later, Stellan married his second wife, Megan Everett, who gave birth to two more children. Sam’s half-siblings Ossian and Kolbjorn.
Alexander is the eldest of all eight of Stellan’s children. He is an actor best known for his role as Eric in “True Bloods”. The second child, Gustaf, is best known for playing Floki in the TV show “Vikings”. Sam is the third born and is followed by his younger brother Bill, who starred in films such as “The Divergent Series: Allegiant”.

Sam has said that his family is close-knit and their creativity has always been fueled by their father’s encouragement. He also remembers from childhood that his parents hosted several dinner parties and many of the guests often stayed over.

While much information about Sam’s early life has been shared by his famous siblings, his own details are vague and hard to come by. Nothing is known about his educational background, where he went to school or what institution he graduated from.

Sam currently works as a doctor in the intensive care unit of a secret hospital in Stockholm. There is little information to confirm the exact hospital, nor his exact duties as a doctor, and despite having a Facebook profile, nothing is mentioned about his current activities.
