Sydel is an Instagram star and a former college volleyball playerbut perhaps best known as the younger sister of Stephen Curry, an American professional basketball player with the Golden State Warriors competing in the National Basketball Association (NBA) league.
Early life and education
Sydel was raised in Charlotte alongside her two brothers by their father Dell Curry who was a professional basketball player and their mother Sonya Curry who was a competitive volleyball player.
Sydel attended a local high school where she became interested in playing volleyball, and it was not long before she became the captain of the school’s volleyball team. She set several records and was selected three times for the North Carolina Independent Schools Athletic Association’s (NCISAA) All-State, while also being selected four times for the Conference of Independent Schools Athletic Association’s (CISAA) All-Conference.
After matriculating in 2012, Sydel enrolled at Elon University on a volleyball scholarship and played for the school’s volleyball team all three years, but hurt her knee during her freshman year and had to spend the season on the bench.
In 2016 she obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree.
Sydel is an Instagram star as she has amassed more than 640k followers on her account and uploaded more than 800 photos. She mainly uploads photos taken during her daily activities, including during her travels, while making food for her dogs and playing sports. In her captions, she usually gives her fans advice on diets and sports.
Sydel is also a YouTuber, as she launched her channel on July 15, 2017 and since then has almost 50,000 subscribers and over three million views across all of her videos combined.

Sydel met American professional basketball player Damion Lee in 2015, at a college basketball game where they were introduced by a mutual friend, who thought the two would be a match, and he told them that one day they would get married. They dated for over two years before Damion proposed to Sydel in November 2017, and on September 1, 2018, they exchanged their vows in a private ceremony attended by their closest friends and family. They have no children together as both of them are currently focused on their careers.
It is widely believed that Damion is Sydel’s first long-term boyfriend, while Damion had several relationships before meeting Sydel. He dated his high school sweetheart for several years, but after becoming somewhat popular thanks to his basketball career, he apparently left her so he could date other girls.

Damion Lee was born in Baltimore, Maryland, USA, on October 21, 1992 – his zodiac sign is Libra and he is an American national. He gained recognition while playing basketball at Calvert Hall College High School in Towson, and during his senior year was selected to play for the Second-Team Baltimore Sun All-Metro. After matriculation, he enrolled in Drexel University on a basketball scholarship and started playing for their Drexel Dragons team.
After an incredible first year, Sydel was named Rookie of the Year by Colonial Athletic Association and in 2015 moved to the University of Louisville after being invited to play for their Louisville Cardinals and becoming their top player. After completing his master’s degree in 2016, Damion was not called up to the NBA, but signed with the Miami Heat before transferring to the Boston Celtics on September 26, 2016. Just two months later, he started playing for the Maine Red Claws before joining the Santa Cruz Warriors on August 24, 2017. Damion debuted for the NBA’s Atlanta Hawks on March 13, 2018, then signed with the Golden State on July 14, 2019 Warriors, but returned to the Santa Cruz Warriors soon after.
