Nevada Alexander Musk bio
Nevada Alexander Musk was the firstborn child of the famous tech billionaire, Elon Musk. Nevada was born on May 18, 2002 in Orange County, California, USA; his mother is Elon’s first wife, Justine Musk. Unfortunately, Nevada died just ten weeks after he was born – Elon and Justine had put him to bed and in the morning he was no longer breathing. After paramedics arrived and tried to resuscitate him, he had been without oxygen long enough for him to suffer permanent brain damage. Nevada Alexander spent three days in a hospital on life support before his parents decided to turn off the machine.
Nevada Alexander Musk’s father, Elon Musk
Born Elon Reeve Musk on June 28, 1971 in Pretoria, Transvaal, South Africa, he is the son of Maye Musk, a model and dietitian, and her husband, Errol Musk, a South African pilot, electromechanical engineer and sailor. Elon, the eldest of three, has a younger brother, Kimball, and a sister named Tosca. He had a difficult childhood as his parents divorced when he was nine years old after which he went to live with his father, his own decision but which turned out to be the wrong one – he is now estranged from his father and refers to him as a horrible man.
During his childhood, he was bullied by his peers, and at one point was thrown down a flight of stairs by a group of boys, hit his head against the pavement, lost consciousness, and had to have a nose job.
However, he developed an interest in computers while spending time on his Commodore VIC-20. He learned Basic himself and when he was only 12 years old, he sold the code of a BASIC-based video game – “Bastar” – to PC and Office Technology magazine for about $500. He attended Waterkloof House Preparatory School and later attended Bryanston High School, but eventually attended Pretoria Boys High School.

He wanted to enroll at a university in the US, but his father was against it, so he attended the University of Pretoria for five months, before enrolling at Queen’s University. Determined to move to the US, Elon migrated to Canada in June 1989 because he knew how easy it is to get to the US from there, especially since he had obtained a Canadian passport thanks to his Canadian-born mother. Three years later, he reached the US and enrolled at the University of Pennsylvania where he studied business and physics, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in physics and economics.
Career
Elon is now one of the most successful entrepreneurs, involved in various industries and multiple projects. His first company was Zip2, a web software company he started with his brother. However, his first bigger project was X.com, an online financial services and email payment company. This was in 1999 and in 2000 he merged with Confinity, owner of the money transfer service PayPal. By integrating its service into PayPal, the entire company became PayPal in 2001.
However, Musk disagreed with the rest of the board and was fired as CEO, although he remained on the board. Nevertheless, PayPal was sold to eBay for $1.5 billion in 2002, and Elon received $165 million from stock he owned. 15 years later, Elon bought the X.com domain from PayPal, saying it has sentimental value to him.
Since 2001, Elon has worked on SpaceX, a space exploration company, and Tesla, Inc., an electric vehicle development company specializing in battery energy storage, solar panels, and the production of solar roof tiles.
