According to Page Six, Anya Taylor-Joy, an American actress, secretly married her 27-year-old lover, Malcolm McRae. The 26-year-old actress and McRae married on an unknown day and location in the United States before flying to Australia to begin filming Mad Max: Fury Road prequel, Furiosa.
After being pictured together with the actress wearing a ring, the couple fueled engagement speculation in June 2022. Anya Taylor-Joy and Malcolm were also seen together on July 18 in Sydney, where the Queen’s Gambit actress wore a large ring and casual suit. While she has previously raved about her romance with Malcolm McRae, Anya Taylor-Joy has been very quiet about the intricacies of her personal life.

27-year-old Malcolm McRae was born in Alabama but moved to Los Angeles a few years ago. His Spotify profile states that he is a musician and actor by profession:
“Malcolm had recently fallen in love with a young lady and had followed his stupid heart and given up everything to go to Los Angeles.” Well, his heart was wrong. The relationship was a mess.”
Malcolm is a member of the duo More, which also includes Kane Ritchotte. The band has been around for almost three years and just signed to Warner Records. According to the band’s Spotify bio:
“Within a week of meeting, the two understood that the music they were making together was more than either one of them could make alone.”
McRae told American Songwriter that he was working as a paralegal in California when he created the words for one of his songs, Elaborate Attractions, while working at a desk. The song was inspired by his father, an investment banker. According to reports, McRae’s father died when he was only 18 years old.
“He studied classical languages at an Ivy League university, so the connection to Joseph Campbell is where we got the video from. We wanted it to be an antihero’s journey. We planned to do all 17 stages of Campbell’s hero’s journey extremely tedious work with an incredibly modest reward for each task. It represents the theme of the song of nature vs nurture.”
In addition to being a musician, McRae is also an actor. According to his IMDb, Malcolm achieved the title of Over All Young Actor in 2006 after being chosen at the age of 12 from a talent show of more than 1000 participants. His filmography includes the films Brotherly (2008) and How’dy Do You? (2020). As for his personal life, the day and year he started dating Anya Taylor-Joy is unknown. In a 2019 interview with Vanity Fair, the actress said she had a bad breakup while filming Emma.
“I had just had a heartbreaking breakup before shooting” [Emma], and it had called everything into question,” she said. “I was just extremely insecure and quite uncomfortable in my own flesh.”
