Early life and family
Andrea LA Thoma of Malaysian American descent, was born on July 11, 1988 in Alliance, Ohio, USA to parents Judy Majalap, a Malaysian, and James Thoma, an American; her zodiac sign is Cancer and her birthstone is Ruby. She and her siblings, Jonathan and Louise Thoma, grew up in Ohio but are aware of their Borneo heritage and culture. However, before seeing action for the team as a freshman, she was put into a medical redshirt year. Her rookie year started in 2007 instead of 2006 thanks to her knee injury during the preseason. She received a commendation to the Academic All-MAC Team and was able to score a multi-goal game that made her the 19the player to do it in women’s soccer team history.
Career
Even in college, Andrea spent five months working in Virginia and Connecticut as a physical therapist. After graduation, she moved to Sunnydale, California, and worked for a few months before deciding to continue her PhD.
As a physiotherapist doctor, she currently treats patients recovering from an accident and helps them regain their mobility.
She said one of the most difficult tasks as a physical therapist is to convince the patient to fully commit to the rehabilitation program. However, the filming schedule kept getting pushed back, so he just decided to do it casually but meaningfully, during one of their beach workouts, but almost ruined the surprise by putting the engagement ring in the training bag they both use.
