HDFC AMC’s Q2 Profit After Tax Grows 6% YoY to ₹364 Crore

India’s third-largest mutual fund, HDFC Asset Management Company, announced on Wednesday an after-tax profit of ₹364 crore for the July-September quarter, growing 6% year-on-year.

The investment company has a market share of 11% in the quarterly average of assets under management (AUM) of the mutual fund industry. According to AMFI data, HDFC AMC is the third fund house as per the September ranking with an average AUM of ₹4.29 lakh crore. SBI MF and ICICI Prudential MF are the two largest mutual funds.

The fund house is one of the largest actively managed, equity-focused mutual fund managers in the country, the company said in an exchange statement.

Approximately 54% of the MF Investment Company’s AUM is made up of equity-oriented funds and the remainder is non-equity-oriented funds, including debt funds, cash, money market funds, and infrastructure debt funds.

The company has more than 80,000 distribution agents at mutual fund distributors, national distributors and banks, and is served through a total of 228 branches. As of September 30, 2022, individual investors contributed 65.5% to the company’s total monthly average AUM, compared to 57% for the industry.
