Even the most confident professionals have days when they might feel a little down or down in their game. Whether you wake up feeling on top of the world or a little less than confident, it’s helpful to have a daily affirmation to remind yourself how special and important you really are.

Affirmations can be incredibly helpful for building confidence and self-esteem. Below 12 members of Council for Young Entrepreneurs share their favorite daily affirmations and discuss how they can help other professionals’ attitudes or thinking at work.

1. ‘My only competition is myself’

One of my favorite affirmation quotes is, “My only competition is myself.” A business requires you to outperform yourself every day. The goal should not be to be better than your competition, because you are not the same in any way. You have to change your mindset to perform better than yesterday to see abundant progress that increases over time, leading to success. † Candice Georgiadis† digital day

2. ‘I am great, I am successful and I am grateful’

Daily affirmation is so powerful that it dictates how your day will be. If a person thinks, speaks and acts positively, then that person will have a very positive outlook throughout the day. For me, my confidence goes through the roof when I affirm these words: “I’m great, I’m successful, and I’m grateful.” Say these words seven times in the morning and watch it change your perspective. † Fritz Colcol† Just Thalia

3. ‘It will be what it will be’

I think one of the best affirmations you can say to yourself is, “It will be what it will be.” Whether it’s a new launch or pitching something for another company, it will be what it will be. You have to let go of everything you have no control over; otherwise you will drive yourself crazy. You can only do what you are capable of. Stretching yourself too thin is a recipe for burnout. † Nick Vendittia† StitchGolf

4. ‘I do my best’

As we navigate the business world after the pandemic, so many things have changed and we can’t look back to pre-2020 data for trends and insights. The world is different and we can only do our best. I remind myself that strategy, the right people, cash and execution are the foundation of the daily habits I establish, and every day I will do my best. † Givelle Laman† Law firm Lamano

5. ‘Every step counts’

“Every step counts” is a powerful mantra or affirmation that I rely on to keep me going. When we work on long-term and large-scale projects, it is easy to lose sight of the results. Remember that small changes and refinements are the key to change, helps me make small improvements. I have more patience and am willing to continue working in the future. † Syed Balkan† WPBeginner

6. ‘Trust the process’

“Trust the process” is a good daily affirmation. It’s easy to overestimate how good things are when they are going well and how bad things are when they aren’t. Trusting the process and sticking to the plan will help you get through anything that comes your way. † Josh Weiss† Reggie

7. ‘Remember where you started’

Always remember where you started and how desperate you were to get to where you are and where you want to go. When we’re in the middle of our business or career, we tend to forget how desperately we wanted it to be, and every setback makes us want to go further back than when we started. Every morning I imagine that I’ve reached where I want to be and I think about where I started. † Kripa Shroff† AK Multinational LLC

8. ‘We can achieve anything’

If you want to boost your confidence, repeat this: “With my team by my side, we can achieve anything.” I believe we need this confirmation because it’s easy to feel lonely and self-doubt when you’re on a big project. Reminding yourself that there is a team of people who believe in you and your vision can give you the boost you need. † John Brackett† Smash Balloon LLC

9. “Solutions Will Come”

Solutions to problems always emerge. Forcing solutions makes a mess. It’s almost like a law of nature. If you force things, they will get worse or you’ll have to redo the job. Sit in silence, move to another task, take an action toward a solution, and just wait. It will come to you. † Matthew Capala† alphametric

10. ‘Problems are opportunities for improvement’

A strong affirmation would be, “I’m open to seeing problems as opportunities for improvement.” As an entrepreneur, everyone looks to you to have all the answers. Seeing problems as opportunities for improvement allows you to look at the situation from many angles and come to the best conclusion to find a solution. † Mary Harcourt† CosmoGlo

11. ‘I believe in my ability to achieve my goals’

An affirming thought to say to yourself is, “I believe in my ability to achieve my goals.” As an entrepreneur, it is extremely important for you to create a positive thinking pattern with positive affirmations. This will help you face your challenges with a positive attitude and keep working towards your goals. † Thomas Griffin† OptinMonster

12. ‘I’m good at what I do and I know what I’m doing’

Tell yourself, “I’m good at what I do and I know what I’m doing.” Business is so competitive that it can be easy to doubt yourself, your knowledge and your abilities. Don’t give in to that temptation. Repeat this confirmation if you are unsure of yourself. Write it down and stick it on your wall or put it in your desk drawer and pull it out when you need a reminder. † Jonathan Prichard† MattressInsider.com
