Jupiter electric mobility launched two electric commercial vehicles on Thursday that will hit the market by the middle of this year. The company is a subsidiary of Jupiter Wagons Ltd (JWL), manufacturer of wagons, high-speed braking systems and railway and technical equipment.

The company has entered into a joint venture with EA GreenPower Pvt Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of GreenPower Motor Company Inc, a publicly traded company in the US and Canada specializing in electric commercial vehicles for passenger and freight transportation.

The two EVs — Jupiter TEZ (2.2 tons) and EV STar CC (7 tons) – will help meet the urgent needs of the country, JWL general manager Vivek Lohia said at the Auto Expo 2023 here.

“By the middle of this year he will be ready to hit the road,” he said.

The company did not disclose prices.

While Jupiter TEZ is manufactured entirely in India, EV Star CC comes from China, he added.

The 2.2-tonne vehicle can be charged in 20 minutes and can travel up to 100 kilometers on a single charge, he added.
