Air India launches 12 weekly flights to London Gatwick Airport and a further 5 to Heathrow

Air India announced on Thursday the launch of 12 weekly flights to Londons Gatwick Airport and five additional services Heathrow airport.

To Gatwick, Air India will operate a thrice-weekly service from cities such as Amritsar, Ahmedabad, Goa and Kochi, and is the only scheduled airline to offer direct services to the UK’s second largest airport.

Air India adds five additional weekly frequencies to Heathrow, Delhi from 14 to 17 times a week and Mumbai from 12 to 14 times a week.

Like Heathrow Airport, Gatwick also offers passengers direct access to the UK road network, facilitating travel to London and South East England.

In addition, with 24-hour direct rail access from the South Terminalpassengers can reach central London in less than half an hour.

The addition of new routes is part of the airline’s ongoing drive to spread its wings on the international aviation map, increasing its market share on international routes.
